Welcome to Boothay Shires
Located in the beautiful and tranquil countryside of South Derbyshire. We have been breeding these stunning horses for over 80 years, this spectacular bloodline can be traced back through Ann's father who originally used and bred these horses to work his farm land, Ann helped her father breed and work them for nearly 20 of those years.
The world famous 'Boothay Richard' was bred by Ann's father (the late T.G White) and although sadly he has recently died he was standing at stud in Russia still out classing his younger competitors in the show ring and producing outstanding youngstock until the very end including the 2014 champion filly 'Herkules Lady Rose'.
Ann & David's son and daughter in-law have taken on the Boothay stud for the last 5 years and so we are going from strength to strength as we push the Boothay name back into the show ring where it belongs! Karen-Louise has been involved with horses horses for 20 years and breaking them for ridden work for the last 10 years so we can produce some of the shires for ridden work, be sure to check out these future champions as they can get reserved from as early as six months old! With already a string of champions to the Boothay shires name, the ridden shires are sure to dominate the show ring.
We have many champions to boast (you can see them in the champions gallery)
